1957 Ford
Fairlane Club Victoria
Construction Details

Here's the resin body I started with. Note that unlike the donor kit, the doors are not separate pieces.

Here's the completed chassis from the AMT/Ertl '57 Fairlane 500 kit.

Another shot of the finished chassis.

I had to modify the kit door panels so that the interior tub would fit into the resin body. I cut the door panels away from the outer frame.

Here the door panels have been cemented to the tub.

Here's the primed body test fit to the chassis.

Starting to mask off the body for the two-tone paint job.

I use masking tape to cover large areas and then fill in the smaller areas with liquid masking.

I also use the liquid masking to seal the edges of the masking tape.

Here's the white part of the paint job.

Masked again for the second color application.

And the finished paint job...

Another test fit, this time with the partially finished interior.

The finished interior...

Foil detailing has been added. Almost finished...
