1958 Ford
Fairlane 500 Club Victoria
Construction Details

The original kit tooling included excess plastic at the top edge of both the windshield and rear glass openings.

I debated about maintaining the original kit integrity, but finally decided to get rid of the excess for scale fidelity.

Here you see the body work progressing. A test fit of the body showed it sitting lower than stock height on the chassis, even though the chassis was configured at stock height.

I corrected the problem by using some small plastic shims to raise the body height.

I filled the missing area of the right front fender with several layers of sprue-glue filler.

Here's the body painted with factory authentic colors from MCW Automotive Finishes.

Almost done...

Just waiting on the replacement parts and final detailing.
