Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria Construction Details |
![]() The model was surprisingly complete and in relatively decent shape. Here it is disassembled. |
![]() The chrome parts needed to be replated. I stripped them using Castrol Super Clean and then sent them off to Chrome Tech USA to be replated. The hood and fender ornaments were missing. Replacements were ordered from The Modelhaus. |
![]() The window assembly needed some work, but was salvagable. |
|
![]() One of several problems with the body was a compound crack in the top. |
![]() The original builder had used a lot of the custom parts from the kit. These had been partially removed. |
![]() Although there was a lot of body work needed, the hood and fender scripts were undamaged. This was a major plus. |
![]() There was a chunk missing from the right front fender. |
![]() There was also some damage where the rear fender skirts had been glued to the body. |
![]() I tackled the top first, gluing the cracks closed. I made sure there was a bit of excess glue in the cracks to allow for sanding. I also had to carefully preserve the grooves in the top. |
