This is an original AMT kit from 1959.


I bought it as a built-up model on eBay.


It was a good candidate for restoration; it was mostly intact, and the scripts and other details were undamaged.


The rear bumper, steering wheel, hubcaps, and fender ornaments were replaced with parts from The Modelhaus.

Paint is '59 Thunderbird Colonial White over Indian Turquoise from MCW Automotive Finishes.


The original front bumper/grille assembly was stripped and sent to Chrome Tech USA for replating.
